Sales Training

Sales people often attending sales training with the perception all they need is an "refresh".

Reality is slightly different.

Sales people loose their selling edge very quickly. Most hold on to their old selling habits, sometimes not attending training courses for five years or more. Many of their customers are put through training to neutralise sales tactics, like negotiation and closing.

 

Purpose of sales training:  "Just need to refresh my skills”.

 

Product and technical training are useful, but if sales people are to progress opportunities with customers, a very different knowledge is required..

The IT&T industry is difficult enough. Not just because it’s competitive, but because value depreciates very quickly. Equipment sold this year will be less expensive in 12 months time and have more features and capability. Sales people need to improve their selling ability just to keep up. Value depreciates due to competitive pressures. Sales people need to constantly update their sales strategies to stay relevant in a maturing market. Refreshing our sales skills, its going to cut it.
